The Bite of '87 was an incident that occurred in 1987 at the New Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. During his last shift, Jeremy Fitzgerald was bitten by Toy Bonnie in the forehead, drastically damaging Jeremy's frontal lobe.
Description[]
Pre-Reboot[]
The Bite of '87 happened during Jeremy's dayshift before the seventh night of Five Nights at Freddy's 2. During the Night 6 phone call, Phone Guy mentioned that animatronics became very aggressive after somebody had used a spare, golden suit, and Jeremy was supposed to look after the animatronics during the birthday party. Then, he was bitten by Toy Bonnie. This incident led to the closure of the location.
Jeremy was in a terrible state and close to death. His frontal lobe was destroyed because of the bite. He survived it thanks to a massive blood donation by Simon Fitzgerald and an experimental treatment.
The event had drastic effects on Jeremy's life, as it caused him to have nightmares of the Toy Animatronics which he would suffer from for the rest of his life. He also became a victim of the media, which led him to change his name to Fritz Glade and move with his family to England. His injury would still cause him to experience headaches and mood swings, however, life had returned to normalcy. Later in life, Fritz experimented with electronics and soon invented things that would help him conquer his demons. This led to the creation of the Dreamcatchers, which were large, scarecrow like figures designed to "counter" each of the Toy Animatronics. The first he created was Strings, which was meant to control The Puppet (by its strings) and remove it from his mind.
After Strings success, Fritz built several more Dreamcatchers to vanquish his fears of the other Toy Animatronics. However, it is assumed these Dreamcatchers failed as he continued to have nightmares of the Toys throughout POPGOES. Fritz would scrap them and later repurpose them as inspiration for a new cast of characters in the Popgoes Pizzeria.

Trivia[]
- While the POPGOES story was being written, Kane Carter believed that Toy Bonnie was the true culprit behind the Bite. However, his opinion has since changed, and he now believes the culprit to be Toy Chica.[1]
- This change in opinion however does not change the lore for POPGOES Evergreen, as Toy Bonnie is still the culprit of the bite in the Reboot Continuity.
- The Bite was meant to be referenced with it's own phone in POPGOES Evergreen, and would feature a miniature Toy Bonnie biting down on it. This phone was never modelled and only a mockup was made for it.[2]
