POPGOES 2015 was an original version of POPGOES game story. It was later changed into what is now in the released version of POPGOES.
Description[]
The POPGOES lore went through a couple of major changes before the game was released. The original lore is being called POPGOES 2015, while the final version is called POPGOES 2016, as the main changes were established around the end of 2015.
Version Differences[]
The protagonist of POPGOES 2015 is Mike Schmidt Jr., the son of Mike Schmidt, the protagonist of the first Five Nights at Freddy's. Mike has become a nightguard of The Popgoes Pizzeria to experience what his father went through. During the time of the game, he slowly achieved a psychical connection with Fritz Glade, called a "London Bridge". Thanks to that connection, Mike was able to contact Fritz and see Gem Stone, who represented a vitality of the connection. The connection wasn't created purposely, but it started to exist because of similar experiences of Mike Jr and Fritz.
During the Sixth Night, a loud bang would be heard, and a red sticky note would appear above the monitor, saying "I'M SO SORRY MICHAEL", which implied Fritz's suicide. Fritz hanged himself after realising that Blackrabbit is being made, and his daughter hasn't forgiven him. Due to Fritz's death, the psychic connection was broken, and the London Bridge has become unstable. Gem Stone transformed into Grave Stone to show, that the vitality of the connection was strongly damaged. Mike Jr has started to lose his sanity, which led to the POPGOES: Silent Night - a bonus, DLC night of POPGOES 2015, where at the end he would kill himself.
The character of Strings didn't exist in the POPGOES '15 lore, and The Puppet didn't have a counterpart then. One idea of the minigames in POPGOES 2015 included a fight between Popgoes and Toy Animatronics. The Puppet hasn't had a counterpart and instead, it was a leader of the Toy Animatronics, while Fritz was a leader of the Popgoes Animatronics.
In POPGOES 2015, Simon Fitzgerald was called "Wake Fitzgerald". His name was referring to how his blood transfusion helped Jeremy to survive The Bite of '87 and "wake him up" from the coma. The WeaselWare's initial name was "WheresWake" where the system was being used to track Wake's DNA. Along with that, Simon as an animatronic didn't exist, nor did the Lux Animatronics.
Ending[]
Newspaper Ending[]
In POPGOES 2015, the ending of the game would reveal a newspaper article explaining the fate of The Popgoes Pizzeria. After reports of suspicious inactivity, the pizzeria was quarantined, and the restaurant's transparency has been shattered in the public eye. The words "transparency" and "shattered", and Stone's head were cut out of the paper, referring to how Gem Stone turned into Grave Stone.
The newspaper was also a teaser of a cancelled fangame - Freddy's Wonderland. Behind the main paper, there was another news story with another picture, revealing Bonnie character from the fangame.
Unknown Ending[]
After you beat all 5 nights, you got a minigame where you play as Blackrabbit. Blackrabbit collapses and the Bonnie soul escapes. The screen goes black.
Trivia[]
- One of the first drafts of the POPGOES Story had Fritz commit suicide via a springlock suit called "Wintertrap".
- The suit "resembled a white ermine, a sort of mix between Popgoes and Spring Bonnie.[1]
