Jumpscares are a major mechanic in POPGOES and POPGOES Evergreen. There are two types of jumpscares in the game: Panic jumpscares and Blackrabbit's jumpscare.

Panic Jumpscares[]
Panic Jumpscares happens, when the Panic Bar reaches the maximum. After that, Strings sees one of the Popgoes Animatronics attacking him.
The animatronic performing a panic jumpscare is affected by the side Strings is looking at.
- When Strings is looking to the left from his Station, he will get jumpscared by Blake the Badger.
- When Strings is looking to the right from his Station, he will get jumpscared by Stone the Crow.
- When Strings is looking at the monitor in front of him or a table behind him, he will get jumpscared randomly by either Popgoes the Weasel, Sara the Squirrel or Saffron the Squirrel.

Blackrabbit's jumpscare is the only real jumpscare in the game. When Popgoes collects all six fragments of Blackrabbit and put them on the table behind Strings, the parts will become possessed by Bonnie Glade, and she will destroy Strings before leaving The Popgoes Pizzeria.

POPGOES: The Blackrabbit[]
In the remake version of the first game from POPGOES Reprinted, the jumpscares were changed. In The Blackrabbit, panicking would slowly make your screen go dark, to about 50% opacity in 99%, and would completely go dark after it hit 100%, which would immediately lead to a jumpscare from a pitch black void. Only Blake's and Stone's jumpscares were considered final. The Blackrabbit's jumpscare wasn't started before the game was cancelled.
