Fritz Glade (born November 1968, died 2024 after Sixth Night), born Jeremy Fitzgerald, is the owner of The Popgoes Pizzeria and creator of the Popgoes Animatronics, Strings and Simon.

Description[]

Jeremy Fitzgerald was the biggest fan of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza the world had ever seen. Up until his teens, he would collect every toy they released.
In 1987, Jeremy took a job as a night guard at the "New Freddy Fazbear's Pizza". During his last shift, he was "bitten" by an animatronic called Toy Bonnie.
Jeremy survived the injuries of the bite, thanks to an anonymous donor of blood. But, in order to escape the controversy of the incident, he changed his name to "Fritz Glade" and moved overseas to England.
With a past that continued to haunt him, Fritz became an incredible inventor, making the Popgoes Pizzeria.

― Fritz' Memory Card

Appearance[]

Fritz is a tall, lanky man with pale skin, long legs, and black hair. He is usually seen sporting a brown suit, a white dress shirt, a black tie, black shoes, and a bandanna over his head to cover an implant in his head.

Personality[]

Before The Bite of '87, Jeremy Fitzgerald was a cheerful person and the biggest fan of the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. He's been collecting the toys from the restaurant chain. However, after he was bitten in The Bite of '87 and his frontal lobe was damaged and removed, Fritz began to have a somewhat serious attitude. He became overprotective, what can be seen in the way he takes care of his daughter.

Story[]

Early Life[]

Jeremy Fitzgerald was born in November 1968 in Texas. He lived a calm life with his parents and twin brother, Simon Fitzgerald. In 1979, he broke into Fredbear's Family Diner and accidently broke JJ, this caused him to have nightmares and hallucinations of the character. In 1984, he became a big fan of Freddy Fazbear's and visited the main four locations to collect all the plushies. While visiting the Golden Freddy Location, the animatronic broke down in front of him. This caused him to hallucinate him while working at the new location in 1987.

In 1987, he worked the night shift and later the day shift at the New Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. While working the day shift, he was bitten by Toy Bonnie after being mistaken for his brother. Jeremy survived the injury thanks to an experimental treatment and a massive blood donation from his brother, although he did not know it was from him at the time. The bite also caused a huge stir in media, what forced him to change his name to Fritz Glade and move with his parents to England.

As Fritz Glade[]

After the bite, Fritz lost a large portion of his memory prior to the incident and left him with life-long nightmares of the Toy Animatronics. Fritz also suffered from other minor symptoms such as headaches and mood swings, but for the most part he remained a productive member of society.[1] Fritz became an inventor during his time in England, creating some electric guitars which he sold to a school. In 2002, he had a daughter he named Bonnie Glade as a coping mechanism to try and get over his fear of Toy Bonnie. During his life he created several more inventions including a video game, a self driving car, and a robotic frontal lobe.

After years of suffering with nightmares of the Toy Animatronics, Fritz decided to create "dreamcatchers" to defeat his nightmares once and for all. These "dreamcatchers" were large, immobile statues meant to "attack" the Toys most memorable features. Fritz began by creating Strings, a figure designed to beat his nightmares of the Puppet by pulling on his strings. After Strings managed to destroy the Puppet from his mind he decided to create more to defeat the rest of his nightmares. Fritz then created Buttons, a figure designed to beat his nightmares of JJ by pushing the buttons that controlled her. However, Buttons failed in destroying his nightmares of JJ as did the rest of the "dreamcatchers" he built. He decided to put them all in storage in case he needed them for another project.

Fritz eventually created a program designed to "track investigations of DNA around the world," in hopes of finding the whereabouts of his brother Simon. This led him to the auction of Fazbear's Fright, where he purchased the remaining relics along with the head of Springtrap, which he knew contained the remains of his brother. During his time in the US, Fritz also discovered a bunker his brother had been living in prior to his death. In it, he discovered the blood experiments he was doing along with a photo of him with five dead children. This confirmed to Fritz that his brother was "The Purple Man."

POPGOES[]

Once he returned to England from the US with the relics of Fazbear's Fright, he decided to create his own restaurant called the Popgoes Pizzeria. After learning his DNA tracking program was illegal, he decided to turn it into a software to control all the machines in the pizzeria. Using the money he made by selling his inventions, Fritz created the pizzeria along with a Warehouse underneath for him to work on his projects. He also used his unsuccessful "dreamcatchers" as inspiration for a new cast of characters for the restaurant, creating Stone, Saffron, Sara, Blake, and Popgoes, which used the top hat of the original Freddy Fazbear. Fritz tried to create a sixth character as the successor to Buttons, Manora, but she was scrapped due to him believing Buttons unluckiness would apply to her as well.

During this time, Fritz decided to create an AI replica of his brother which he called Simon. He created him using information from reports on "The Purple Man," his own memory, and a module called "Evolution." This gave Simon a mind similar to that of a human, but also allowed it to grow significantly faster. He succeeded in creating him, but quickly grew fearful of him and decided to chain him to a wall for the safety of himself and others. He also created Sec-Strings, a robotic security guard meant to guard the building using the Strings "dreamcatcher" as a base. But he also created him to help him find out the truth about his past, so he gave him a module called "Curiosity." This allowed him to come up with theories based on the information he was told, but also came with the side-effect of giving him hallucinations and panic attacks.

While setting up Strings for his night shift, he closed the pizzeria and set up several pre-recorded messages with multiple choice questions. After finishing the call system, his daughter walked in and scared him with the Toy Bonnie Mask, causing him to freak out and murder her with an axe. It is unknown whether he reported this to the police or hid it,[2] but it took a large hit on his mental state. One night after heavily drinking he inputted the code "Save Bonnie" into the animatronics system, hoping that they could somehow bring her back to life. This code was interpreted as "bring back Toy Bonnie," which caused the animatronics to behave the way they do throughout POPGOES.[3]

After String's sixth night, Simon is able to manipulate Fritz into giving him access to WeaselWare with the lie that he can bring Bonnie back to life. After Fritz does this, Simon releases himself from his chains and prints out the Blackrabbit from the nearby 3D Printer. The Blackrabbit is immediately possessed by his daughter and kills him. This allows Simon to escape into the pizzeria and destroy the animatronics, including Strings.

POPGOES 2[]

Although Fritz's body was dead, his mind was still alive inside WeaselWare. His robotic brain implant allowed him to connect his consciousness to WeaselWare while he was asleep, where he is able to revisit his memories and sometimes change the outcome of them. Strings is able to communicate with Fritz throughout POPGOES 2 and allows him to see some of his memories throughout the game's six nights. In the True Ending, Strings is able to shut down WeaselWare and stop Simon for good.

As revealed by Kane Carter, Blackrabbit would've eventually rebuilt herself, collected the heads of Popgoes, Springtrap, and Toy Bonnie (representing Fritz, Simon Fitzgerald and herself, respectively), brought them to a secluded part of the woods, and performed the "Happiest Day" ritual, therefore putting all three spirits to rest.[4]
