Buttons is a dreamcatcher character created by Fritz Glade to help with his fears about JJ animatronic. It was later reused by Simon to create Sec-Buttons.
Description[]
| “ | Fritz' fears of the Toys consisted of Toy Bonnie, Toy Foxy, Toy Chica, Toy Freddy, BB, The Puppet and... JJ. The fears of the Puppet were quickly conquered after the creation of Strings, and next in the line was JJ. Fritz actually had fears of JJ ever since an incident that occured at Fredbear's Family Diner, but she still haunted his mind, causing hallucinations during his night shift at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza years later. Fritz built buttons after Strings' success, designing him to push the buttons that controlled JJ, hopefully sabotaging the nightmares of her that remained. But Buttons failed for some reason, and the plans of the other dreamcatchers died along with him.

| “ | After Fritz' death and Simon's domination of the pizzeria, Buttons was "reused" by Simon and rebuilt into his own security bot... Sec-Buttons. Sec-Buttons is a mindless drone, fitted with an extension called "Scan". This extension allows Sec-Buttons to scan usable data from characters, objects, and humans that are nearby. Simon built Sec-Buttons for two reasons: to prove to Fritz that he could make Buttons "work", and to scan rooms for powerful humans to interrogate. But in the gameplay of POPGOES 2, Sec-Strings secretly used Sec-Buttons as a makeshift camera system, while also scanning the enemies to defend himself.

Appearance[]
As a scarecrow, Buttons was a spindly doll-like ornament, very close to Strings in appearance, but in light blue and lacking the black strings. Compared to Strings, Buttons' body appears to be flipped upside down, his head on top of what would be Strings' legs, giving it an elongated neck. Buttons' four arms are on its bottom, resting on top of circular black bases.
Sec-Buttons now has a flashlight on the middle of its face, and an eye on it's torso. The body was modified to resemble Sec-Strings', with multiple pieces of exposed metal. Instead of the hands it originally had, Sec-Buttons has large wheels, allowing it to move.
